Private Studio

Our Private Studio is for ages 8 and above. We offer weekly lessons in multiple instruments.

Students utilize their audiation foundation to recognize chord progressions and tonal and rhythmic patterns as they move from informal to formally reading notation with understanding and composing their own music. Music theory is taught as well as music history. Lessons are 45 minutes with 15 minutes devoted to duo work with another student. Service performance opportunities as well as a group class and recital give our most advanced students opportunities to experience the joy of sharing their music with our community.

To best support student success and development, Private Studio lesson spots are offered first to students who have completed our foundation programs, including:

• Music Together classes or

• Semi-Private Music Moves classes

These programs provide the musical foundation necessary for success in private instruction.​

Placement in Private Studio lessons are determined by the Director and teaching staff, in partnership with ongoing communication with parents, to ensure each student is placed in the environment that best supports their individual growth, readiness, and long-term success.
