Time just flies, doesn't it? Halloween seems like it was yesterday the New Year is almost upon us, and we continue to move forward, growing and learning.
It's amazing that this coming January marks FIVE YEARS since Dahl Studio was officially organized. That's crazy! We started with 3 families in our first Music Together Mixed-Age class and now have 4 teachers and run 12 different programs weekly, all audiation-based, for newborn to adult students! This simply does not exist anywhere else in Nevada! It has been an honor to bring the first Music Together Generations class to the state; teach from the Phillipines to Belgium during COVID with Music Together online; and to be able to continued to work in the community - offering free classes at our North Las Vegas libraries and continuing to have free community events to benefit our Grandfriends at the Silver Sky Assisted Living Center.
It has been a road to travel that has not always been easy, but it has been a joy because we have had the opportunity to see how the music is blessing YOUR lives! Thank you for sharing your journey with us!

REMINDER You can use your makeups to invite a friend to join you in a Mixed-Age or Rhythm Kids class for free! Just let us know who is coming and when! Edina has also reached out to everyone to coordinate pre-recorded classes as makeups. Please make sure you get back to her with your preferences! Any extra bonus classes can also be used as a makeup! As a reminder, because we believe making music is not something we only do for a day, a week, or even a semester, our programs are all organized to run year round! We want to support your music making comprehensively! Tuition for the year is broken into equal monthly payments, but, like with sports and gymnastics, your registration is to reserve your spot in class and is due in full regardless of how many classes you attend. In that same vein, tuition can not be suspended and credits are not issued. We do encourage use of our generous makeup policy!
Feature article for the month! This month's article is an invigorating look at early musical cognition. Did you know newborns can perceive musical beats?! "Newborns' Innate beat perception"
"Newborn babies can perceive the beat in music, new research has confirmed. The study, carried out by a team of scientists from the University of Amsterdam and the HUN-REN Research Centre for Natural Sciences (TTK) in Hungary, shows that this ability to recognise a beat is not simply due to the statistical learning ability of newborns, but that beat perception is actually a separate cognitive mechanism that is already active at birth."
But hey, we already knew that we are all born musical!
If you're loving your experience with us, please take a minute and share with us on our Google on our Facebook
Thank you for being a part of our studio family!
